‘Silent’ Updates For Internet Explorer
Microsoft said that from the beginning of next year Internet Explorer (IE) will automatically upgrade to the newest version of the browser. Microsoft claims that this silent update project is taken to improve the security and to beat the scammers. Those who don’t want to upgrade their browser should uninstall the program. In a blog post Microsoft’s IE boss Ryan Gavin wrote that the web is safer when you use the update version of the browser.
He claims that a security intelligence report suggests that cyber criminals have targeted the old versions and they try to trick people into installing fake updates. To prevent such mischief once users install the newest version of the browser the future updates will be automatically installed silently. This plan to beat the scam would work for those users who do not see the necessity of not staying up to date. Hopefully this will come out good for Microsoft because they have been struggling for years with their browser.
