51 years old Micron Technology CEO Steve Appleton died on Friday, February 3 in an Airplane Crash.  He was Micron Technology’s leader for 17 years. 

Steve was flying a private aircraft that was fixed before his last fly. He was the only one in the plane Friday. 

Here is what Boise-based Micron said:  “Steve’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idahocommunity and the technology 

Before his death,Appletonwas focused more on decreasing Micron’s reliance on sales of the chips, which supports computers processing information. industry at large.”

Micron Technology Inc. is one of several companies that make semiconductor chips for various devices, including computers, mobile devices, cameras, cars and industrial systems. 

 “Steve was a high-energy, never-give-up type of inspirational leader of the company. The entire industry will miss Steve’s energy,” said Kevin Cassidy, an analyst.
