An Android application developer in U.S.A has recently posted a video clip the ‘conclusive evidence’ that  the Carrier IQ software installed by US phones’ manufacturers record the phone’s usage in real time, and their geographic locations.

On the other hand, Carrier IQ has defend their position by claiming that their software is capable of tracking only the information for the advantages of its users and is not aimed at any spying purposes. More precisely, the software only counts and summarizes the information without recording it.

Meanwhile, in a YouTube video clip posted on the last Monday showed that the developer, Trevor Eckhart, set a “factory reset” on his personal Android phone, returned it the same condition as shipped to customers. Besides, he linked the factory reset to a computer display to show the tracking practice of Carrier IQ software.

The online demonstration also showed that Carrier IQ software interprets every keystroke that has been installed into the handset, as well as the text messages sent to it.
